Don't get tired

2 Chronicles 15:7 "Therefore be strong, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded."

Here lies a very encouraging and reassuring scripture! This was a message God was delivering to Asa, but can be used for any of us who seem to believe their work is being unnoticed. There are times that we may feel overlooked when we know we have given our complete best. We may see others appearing to skate through life as we diligently work only seemingly gaining just enough to get by. But what does God say? Not in so many words, but to not get tired. God records everything we do whether it be good or bad. Seeing that, there is no need to stay down about where you may be at in life because your reward IS coming.

When we confess to be believers we sacrifice our perspective, wants, desires all for God's perspective, wants, and desires. We happily sing William McDowell's "I give myself away" but when we feel we have not received our reward, we forget why we are really working. We work not to obtain salvation, but because we are saved. God never guaranteed us appreciation from other human beings. He never promised people will not leave you or that life is a piece of cake. We show lack of appreciation for God every day, yes even you because no one can give God the amount of thankfulness that is due to Him. And what does He do? He does not stop blessing us, loving us, protecting us, ALL of us even the ones who have not yet believed. The same charge we are held to every day, to not get tired.

There may be a friend, co worker, family member, church member you have been praying for and have not seen results yet. Maybe there is a ministry that God placed you over that is not prospering like it should even though you have given God your ALL. Could it be your job that fails to see your superb work ethic and you have been praying for a raise? Whatever you may need strength for ask for it right now! Don't sleep on God because He is fully awake on all of the issues we face. Real farmers do not stop planting and cultivating their crops because of one bad harvest. They keep plowing and watering for the next year in good faith that their crops will flourish. Same mindset we must have in this Christian journey. Keep plowing, pray for strength, and you will soon enjoy the fruits of your labor. We work unto The Lord anyways so if we delight in Him, He will delight in us. Start your week off working unto The Lord and be mindful that your diligent work is being accounted for in Heaven.
