Psalm 23:6 "And surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever"
It's THANKFUL THURSDAY and I have a praise of gratitude on my spirit right now for God's presence. As I've been reading my new devotional "Not Without You" by Natasha Denise Frazier I've become more aware of the fact that I'm nothing without God.
Can you name anything you've done without God? What would you do if the Lord wasn't on your side? See some of us believe that it is the receipt of our salvation that allows God to be with us; however, it's the receipt of our salvation that allows us to be with Him. He knew us from the start; therefore, He was with us from the start. We have to commit our lives to Him, we have to accept Him as Lord and Savior because He has indeed already chosen us beforehand. God created each and everyone of us just as He did Adam, He breathes breath into our body each day. He knew you before you decided to come to know Him, amazing right? God knows each of us so well that we don't truly begin knowing who we are until we begin knowing who He is.
Salvation is the acknowledgement that we can't go through life without He who gave us life. I challenge you to look back over every milestone in your past and evaluate how you overcame it. If you can't explain it then it was God and if you can explain it then guess what, it was still God! His grace and mercy that follows us all the days of our life is what keeps us in this life and for that we must be thankful. My birth was a difficult for both my mother and I, but we're both still here! I've had Chronic Asthma since my early years, experiencing several life threatening attacks, but I'm still here. My mother had kidney failure from salmonella food poisoning, but she's still here. All because God was with us. He protects us from things seen and unseen, so be careful not to discredit Him.
If God spared your life one time it would've been considered a fluke, the second time would've been a coincidence, but at the third time it was a pattern. This pattern proved to have purpose because we know that the only One who could/would save your life is the One who gives you life. You can't fulfill your purpose without Him. Even the possible is impossible without Him. So I'm glad that He was with me even when I didn't acknowledge His presence and I'm even more glad that I now have the chance to praise Him for always being with me, protecting me, loving me, and etc. Give Him the glory today!
