2 Chronicles 18:7 "And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may inquire of The Lord: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah, the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so."
I want to encourage those brave few who are daring enough to speak up for God, to keep talking. Here we have a king who has been told by false prophets words that never came from God. Those words were all lies. All they wanted to do was tell the king any and everything he wanted to hear. They were not concerned about his life, his future, or his present state. These prophets had a gift alright. I mean if you can call it that. This group of prophets were a bunch of liars. See, this is an interesting chapter. Honestly, I'm not going to go into much detail because I would rather you all read it yourself.
Have you ever experienced some people like this? They may not be prophets, but just people who are in your ear saying God told me to tell you this and it just does not sit well in your spirit? Perhaps they didn't say God told me to tell you, but they are always telling you what you want to hear. Whatever relationship we have we must be true to it. It is not right to say yes to people just because we are afraid that it will rub someone the wrong way. The truth hurts quite honestly most of the time & we mustn't get in a habit of being people pleasers, which was just what Micaiah was not. Everyone knew him as God fearing and always having not a word, but The Word. Why? Because His Word came from God only. The king did not like what Micaiah had to say because his Word was not tailored to the king's preferences. Micaiah gave it to him straight and whoever didn't like it, oh well. Is that not how God operates? God will not change because it is 2014. You can get a Bible from the bookstore or download on your mobile device. I guarantee you, His Word will never change. Seeing how our word changes with a blink, I am very thankful that we have His Word to depend on forever. Also, do not be like the king talking bad about those God sends to speak His Word. Pastors, preachers, Christians in general get bad mouthed when we uplift the truth and exploit lies. Every word does not come from God, yes. However we should not rebuke a Word that does come from The Lord.
So, Micaiah tells the king what The Lord gave him and the king was livid. You ever told someone something that he or she needed to hear and that person got upset with you? The only reason why Micaiah told the king the truth was because he loved The Lord and he loved the king. You have to love people to tell them the truth and you are not able to truthfully say you love God, and not love His creations by lying to them. The word says, that Love rejoices in the truth. Don't let a few people being upset with you make you a liar, keep talking. I have been on both sides before and I am a witness that whatever God says, WILL come to pass. It is better to adhere to the warning than to fall into Satan's trap. I'm sure the king would have given his left arm that he would have listened because it really isn't about the messenger, but the Message. Did you catch that the king said, he hated Micaiah when Who he really hated was God, because if He knew God he would not know hate and he would not continuously reject what God was telling him before his destruction. Keep talking! Don't get quiet, speak up. People will find a way to be upset with you without you doing anything. So tell the truth anyhow, pray for them, and remember it is not about you, but this is spiritual. Satan does not want us to know the truth so if they are mad, it is just the flesh and satan trying to block what God is trying to relay to them. Tell the truth and dust your feet. They don't have to receive it, but we must relay The Message and do not be a rebuker of God's Word but a rejoicer! Enjoy worship today!
