Oops!

Mark 14:71 " But he began to curse & swear, saying, I don't know this Man of whom you speak,"

Ever had an oops moment? You know that moment where you are given the opportunity to broadcast your Love for Jesus. When non believers are around questioning, ridiculing, or mistreating you and you have the chance to be confident in Christ and then you blow it. Oops! Lord, I love You. I will do anything for You because You did everything for me. Then you are put into a predictament where your words must meet your actions and you say....nothing. You do nothing. They will laugh at me. These people will kill me. I have to keep my job. She has been my girlfriend for years; I can't just leave her. But that's my uncle; I can't correct him. He will not love me anymore if I stand firm and what I believe. Getting closer to home. Having these thoughts in our head are some of the setbacks that can really keep a sinner from being a saint. Seriously, I wonder what would of happened if Peter just said, Yeah I know Christ, as a matter fact I love Him. So what? What if he stood up to those people? Perhaps at least one could have received Christ that very moment. Given that was already predestined to be so, you know Peter denying Jesus to fulfill scripture, but I can't help but wonder.

So fast forwarding to present time we all can agree that we have had our oops on different occasions. For whatever reason we shy away from The Cross as if what was done for our lives was something to be ashamed about. If anything Jesus should be ashamed to call us His friends because we are the fornicators, liars, thieves, cheaters, wild, loose, drunk, disrespectful beings and He is in Heaven being Perfect. For Someone so Holy and Righteous to claim us, filthy ole us as His Friends and die for us for the world to see and discuss thousands of years later, who are we to be ashamed of Him? As the world quickly grows increasing worse and adds much pressure on young people to follow everyone else but Christ, we must be careful! What we do and say is being watched and we don't want to cause anyone to not believe out of our own fear for what he or she may do to us. If a friend leaves then that shows how much of a friendship you had. If a job fires you because of your beliefs know that His Riches can exceed any amount of pay worldy jobs can offer. Did He not say He will take care of us? Does He not care more for us than the sparrows? So with all of that Love from Him where is our confidence in Him?

Okay I am not trying to be hard on anyone because I too have fallen short at times, but I have also learned from my oops and now realizing the opportunity! Sharing the wonderful news of what Jesus did for the world does not only happen when the preacher is preaching, us writing posts every day on this blog, or quoting scriptures to strangers, it is our lifestyle. We should choose to be different in our spiritual skin and not buying into the man made copies sold to us every day in the media. Deciding not to get drunk, go to strip clubs, attend wild parties, do drugs, gossip, hate enemies, ALL are opportunities to share That Same Word because the underlining message when asked by others to do those things is, "Do you know Jesus?" People are hurting inwardly every day because of lack of knowledge about our Saviour. Wouldn't it be awesome to be a vessel God uses to heal a hurting heart? So, okay we all had oops moments just like Peter, but he recognized it and redeemed himself by allowing God to use Him anyway in what is talked to be one of the most gruesome deaths the disciples had to go through all for The Glory of God. Turn your oops into an opp(opportunity) and without fear proclaim your Love for God. #JulyChallenge #NoShame Feel free to post on FB or tweet @fearlessfaith14 your oops to an opp moment during the month of July. 😄
